ELLIOT HEIDELBERGER: I’ve been practicing family law at the Law Offices of Elliot Heidelberger for over 40 years. For me, the most rewarding aspect of being a family law attorney is working with children, either through their parents or being appointed by the court. Kids are really great. They really need a lot of help because their parents are going through a very difficult time. And they need somebody that they know is on their side in the case. I pride myself on providing for my clients both honesty and being direct and to the point in trying to cut through a lot of the things that distract and detract from getting a prompt and good conclusion to their case. We try to be a calming influence. And we need to spend time with the client and let them tell us their story. We need to separate their emotional involvement from what we’re trying to do in the case while at the same time being compassionate, listening to them, and answering their questions.
